It is with great pleasure to announce our next guest speaker Lauren Tonelli from the Invasive Species Centre all the way from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario at the next York Bassmasters club meeting Thursday November 30th at 7:00 pm at WEGZ, 2601 Rutherford Road, Vaughan.
The Invasive Species Centre is a non-profit organization located in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario that works to connect stakeholders, knowledge and technology to prevent and reduce the spread of invasive species that harm Canada’s environment, economy and society.
Lauren Tonelli is the Project Manager for the Invasive Species Centre’s Asian Carp Program. She will be discussing aquatic invasive species and how anglers can prevent spreading them.
This I believe is topic of concern for all of us and I know we all wish to do our part to prevent the spread of such invasive species. Please be sure to attend this meeting and show our clubs support for this cause and certainly to show Lauren our appreciation for her coming to our meeting all the way from Sault Ste. Marie!
We encourage members to bring guests along. Any other visitors are also more than welcome to attend for what I am sure is going to be an informative speaker.
For more information about the Invasive Species Centre, please visit their web page at

Thanks to all the members of York BassMasters for participating in the Jackall Pitch It plastics recycling campaign. Our efforts led to 45.45 pounds of used plastic baits being diverted from our waterways.
The campaign certainly shed light on how a few discarded plastic baits can add up in weight.
Hats off to all the other clubs for their efforts as well. It would be certainly good to see the total weight of all the OBN clubs efforts.

Nice work boys, keep on trekking and hope you land some monsters today and close the deal.

The boys have 5 in the box now. Time to cull.
